This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to use twin rope work positioning techniques to perform a range of tasks in order to deal with a variety of possible emergency situations that may arise due to the vast varying workplaces that tower workers may face in everyday working environments.

Course Duration: 24 hours over 3 days (Initial) | 12 hours over 1.5 days (Refresher)*
Course Prerequisite: Nil
Student/Trainer Ratio: 6 students per trainer
Course Location: Unit 4/1a Byth St, Stafford QLD 4053**

*Where delivered as a refresher, the delivery time is reduced and assessment time remains the same. The course duration includes a break.

**Courses can be delivered at your worksite if required. In this instance your employer will confirm there are suitable facilities on site to deliver the training.

    Demonstrate skills in the following:

    • Complete a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS)
    • Set up an exclusion zone
    • Pre-use inspection of fall arrest equipment
    • Select harness; properly fit the harness and perform buddy checks
    • Correct rigging of anchorage straps
    • Ascent and descent techniques
    • Emergency self-rescue
    • Ascent and descent thru a redirection

  • Course assessment

    Students will be assessed to determine their competency in these courses both theoretically and practically.

    The theory assessment consists of multiple choice and short answer questions.

    The practical assessment will require students to demonstrate supervisory skills in selecting, using and maintaining height safety equipment and resolve various rescue scenarios.
